FOSTERING CHRISTIAN GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT THROUGH INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.
ACADEMIC FOCUS AREAS
All of our programs are multidisciplinary and organized around a unifying theme related to critical global and regional issues of interest to Christians. We believe that these issues should be examined in a holistic and comprehensive fashion that demonstrates the complex linkages between different problem areas and the role that religion plays to either help solve or exacerbate those problems. The four interrelated themes that we are currently focusing on include the following:
Peacebuilding & Reconciliation: how Christian theological perspectives that emphasize love, forgiveness, reconciliation and justice can be translated into practical strategies for transforming conflicts and promoting peace.
Poverty & Development: physical, economic, social and spiritual development of countries around the world using the holistic model employed by organizations like World Vision and Church World Service, and those providing social enterprise solutions to regional problems.
Faith, Compassion & Social Justice: preventing the oppression, exploitation, and neglect of vulnerable members of society such as woman, children, the poor, victims of human trafficking, the mentally ill and disabled, and refugees.
Creation Care: the relationship of faith-based environmental stewardship with sustainable development, poverty alleviation and peacebuilding.
